Community Action
Community Action is a compiled of neighbors, local business, organizational partners, volunteers, faith-based, state and federal and concerned citizens of our community. Together, we promote safety, engage residents and enhance our communities. We are committed to creating a community with a Zero tolerance for violence.

Unity March
The Annual Unity March honors the lives of those that been loss to violence and celebrates youth and families that are actively working to be agents of positive change within their homes, neighborhoods, and surrounding communities. Out Unified effort is inclusive of ALL people; it involves EVERYONE! Combined efforts exemplify a strong movement of non-violent and collective action. Such efforts are a great example of what CommUNITY truly means: Connecting people, building relationships, increasing neighborhood safety, and creating opportunities for youth and families.

Improving Neighborhood Conditions
WOW Outreach engaged 50 partners in mowing, cleaning and beautifying properties on the north-side of Flint. These vacant properties have been abandoned by the owners and stripped of looters. Tall grass, weeds, broken windows and piles of trash were eliminated by our ream to create a safer and more attractive area. 89+ properties in the 48505 neighborhood were mowed and maintained regularly including 60 through the Clean and Green program and 15+ abandoned homes that were boarded as part of Land Bank’s boarding project.

Public Safety Campaigns
WOW Outreach is constantly organizing outdoor activities, particularly in the most vulnerable communities, for residents and community partners to take back our streets, support each other and organize our efforts. 11 Neighborhood Safety Rallies were held in known “hot spot” areas with a total of up to 2500 local residents and partners which mitigated potential violence in known high crime areas. In partnership with the Flint Police Department and Crime Stoppers we also initiated a Stop the Silence Campaign to encourage people to report crimes and provide information to solve crimes.
